Elizabeth Calleja

Elizabeth was born and raised here in IL which makes her a proud Cambodian American. Both of her parents are Cambodian genocide survivors. When Elizabeth was born, her parents knew very minimal English. With that, Cambodian was her first language. Since then, she’s very involved with her culture and tradition. Her interests and passion are to promote more knowledge into the new and older generation.

She brings to the museum her experience in organizational relationship building, leadership, events coordinating ideas, marketing, public relations, and managing skills.

Currently she works at a diversity company and devote any other spare time to her husband and son.

Things of interest for Elizabeth includes hiking, social events, reading, dancing, music, food, traveling, and volunteering.
